(USED) Here is a very special guitar, once owned by the great Al Petteway. This was his touring and recording guitar for a solid year, and was built by John Slobod of Circa Guitars. It’s a traditional Adirondack-topped Orchestra Model, with a modern soft venetian cutaway and very pretty Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The cosmetics very much remind us of Slobod’s alma matter Bourgeois Guitars, and the appointments here are very much in the spirit of the Bourgeois Soloist.
Being a traditional OM, it is long 25.4″ scale, with a 1 3/4″ nut and 2 1/4″ string spacing at the saddle. Adirondack spruce top and braces, Brazilian rosewood with “maiden hair” figuring, Ebony bindings with wood fiber purfling. Segmented wood rosette. Ebony fingerboard with no inlays. Slim soft V neck profile, with traditional diamond volute and torch peghead inlay.
The action and playability are excellent, and the condition is very good. The Brazilian rosewood on the back developed two small cracks during construction, and they were stabilized by Slobod before the guitar was finished. There was a Feather pickup that has since been removed, and the end pin is now plugged. The bridge developed a crack at one point in time, and was professionally repaired by Dana Sutcliffe.
The body has various small scuffs throughout. There are many shallow dings in the top from Petteway’s playing style, nothing egregious and mostly only seen under close scrutiny. There is also some light lacquer chipping on the headstock edges. The guitar includes a very protective fiberglass Karura case, white with pink lining, that shows some scuffing from travel.
The voice of this guitar is clear and articulate, impeccably balanced with a hint of Brazilian darkness. Obviously a next-level fingerstyle instrument, but seems to handle everything well.

Returns
Due to multiple parties such as the factory and the warehouse, we're unable to fully manage stock. The levels of stock can change at any time. You may not receive your order once it has been placed.
Our policy is valid for a period of 30 days. Unfortunately, if thirty days have passed since you purchased your product, we are unable to offer you a return or exchange.
For your item to be eligible for return the item must not be opened and in the condition you received it. It should also be in the original package.
