(USED) Here is a fabulously voiced, big and warm sounding 000 from the California Goodall shop, built in 2016. Goodall is, of course, known for their lush, 3-dimensional tone, and this 000 has it (and then some!) It has a bass response that would be hard to duplicate, even in an OM, but it also has two things that many hope for from a 12-fret guitar, but are far from assured: a short scale and a solid peghead.
The complex tone comes from a winning combination of master grade German spruce and straight-grained Honduran rosewood. We hear the Honduran as being somewhat more nuanced and focused than East Indian rosewood, and we think you’ll hear it, too.
25″ scale length, with 1 3/4″ nut and 2 1/4″ string spacing at the saddle. Mahogany neck with smooth satin finish and comfortable modified oval shape. Maple neck, body and peghead binding. The ebony fingerboard has mother of pearl “notched square” fingerboard inlays, and the frets have zero wear, they are clean as can be. Herringbone top trim and rosette, marquetry back strip. Waverly tuners.
The condition is almost perfect, but there is a circular string scratch around the “A” string tuning post, not deep and hard to see if you aren’t looking for it. No structural issues whatsoever. Includes original Ameritage hard case.
Excellent instrument, and rare nowadays!
