(NEW) A shop favorite, the JOM-T from Bourgeois does everything extremely well. It has the depth of the popular OM shape, but is scaled up to land between an OM and a dreadnought… so we get the best of both shapes, in both sound and comfort. This model has been quite popular around here!
For the 2019 Artisan Guitar Show, Dana and crew developed this very special instrument, with a tonewood combo that we were already quite fond of, but with a new cosmetics package, inspired by the look of guitars coming out of some of the western European shops. The JOM-T “Redhead” features the warm sound of redwood for the top, and the clarity and sustain of black walnut for the back and sides. This guitar, #1 of 5, features a new braided rosette, elegant in its simplicity. To cap it off, literally and figuratively, there is a blazing red Cocobolo peghead overlay and Cocobolo bindings. Also unique to this limited edition, silver ring fingerboard inlays. Another first!
This guitar has a long scale, with 1 23/32″ nut and 2.2″ string spacing at the saddle. It has a comfortable modified “V” neck profile with quick satin finish. The tuners are nickel Waverly’s. Simple maple “Soloist” style purfling completes the understated look of this lovely instrument.
Like we said, the JOM-T in general does everything well, from strumming to fingerpicking, and it’s extremely dynamic… that said, it’s hard to imagine a better alternate tuning/fingerstyle guitar, its warmth and depth really comes out at that “D” frequency. This limited edition instrument includes a 5-ply TKL case and lifetime warranty from Bourgeois.
