(NEW) We always love working with Huss & Dalton because they are not only great guitar builders, but great friends, and they always encourage us to let our imaginations run wild! We asked them if they could give us a T-0014 that had the same features as their popular Albert Lee MJ model, and boy did they deliver!
This guitar looks and sounds excellent, as evidenced in our video, played by Shane McLaughlin. We went with thermo-cured/torrefied Sitka spruce for the top, which offers great headroom but also the quick responsiveness that a small guitar needs. The back and sides are quilted maple, as is the neck. Don’t sleep on maple, folks! Maple has long been one of our favorite tone woods, and when paired with a torrefied top and Adirondack bracing, has the perfect mix of punch and warmth.
The “Albert Lee” theme in the cosmetics starts with the translucent black finish, contrasted beautifully by the figured koa binding. This one has a 1 23/32″ nut and is short scale, with ebony fingerboard (also bound in koa) and ebony knobs on gold Waverly tuners. The neck profile is a comfortable modified “V” shape.
A distinctive and versatile little guitar that isn’t afraid to get a little rowdy! Includes original tweed style hard case.
