We’ve always felt that it was better to represent a few shops in a very deep way, vs having a brand list a mile long and only having a smattering of instruments available from any given manufacturer. Well, sometimes a story comes along and it jolts us into action! When we heard about the mission of the Troublesome Creek Stringed Instrument Company, we just knew that we wanted to be a part of it!
Troublesome Creek is unique among our offerings… first of all, they are a NON-PROFIT enterprise, working with members of the recovery community around Hindman, Kentucky to not only build excellent stringed instruments, but also rebuild lives and livelihoods for their workforce. Through a partnership with the Appalachian School of Luthiery, Doug Naselroad and Troublesome Creek bring deep industry and luthiery knowledge in focus with the concept of helping those recovering from addiction. They rely on sustainable domestic hardwoods exclusively for their soundboards, backs and sides.
We’re finally able to over another new Troublesome Creek guitar, this one a slope shouldered dreadnought with Adirondack spruce top/braces, black walnut back/sides. Walnut is, in our opinion, a very underrated wood for back and sides. It’s not particularly exotic, visually, but it has similar tonal properties to mahogany, often with a little bit more sustain. This guitar is very lightweight, it’s great when a guitar this big is so easy to pick up!
The aesthetic is very workmanlike: simple single-ring rosette, black binding on the top only, black headstock logo and chrome tuners with black buttons. 1 23/32″ nut with 2 3/16″ string spacing at the saddle, long 25 1/2″ scale. The neck is a comfortable modified low oval shape. Ebony fingerboard, bridge and pins. The entire guitar has a thin, satin open-pore finish. Includes hard case.

Returns
Due to multiple parties such as the factory and the warehouse, we're unable to fully manage stock. The levels of stock can change at any time. You may not receive your order once it has been placed.
Our policy is valid for a period of 30 days. Unfortunately, if thirty days have passed since you purchased your product, we are unable to offer you a return or exchange.
For your item to be eligible for return the item must not be opened and in the condition you received it. It should also be in the original package.
